IGF Boardrooms are a membership-driven, series of closed-door meetings which are Sector focused, Impact and Outcome orientated. Each boardroom series is held across the year, with the first meeting setting out the overarching outcome the series is designed to achieve, and each consecutive meeting thereby working towards achieving the said outcome. IGF UAE will feature the following boardrooms across two days:
The UAE has over the years acted as the main redistribution gateway for multinational corporations. Now, with climate change and the pandemic having affected businesses to accelerate diversifying supply chains and building sustainable ones, the UAE’s role as a global redistribution network in conjunction with India’s growing ambitions to become a global manufacturing base will come sharply into focus. This boardroom will explore the impact of Joint agreements & FTAs to open up trade: The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Compliance to ESG norms – sustainability of Supply Chains and sectors with opportunity for expansion.
The rapid digitalisation across the globe, the need for constant innovation and research in order for industries and countries to bolster their economic growth and geostrategic interests means there is an urgent need and focus on education and skills. In addition, corporates and businesses across the world are looking to upskill their workforce to adapt to the needs of a post-pandemic world. This Boardroom explores various trends in the skills landscape from remote learning and skilling to identify new opportunities for investment, best practices and outcome-driven strategies to overcome challenges on the ground.
In recent decades, the need for gender diversity at work has become imperative. Companies that boast a higher representation of women on their boards, notably outperform the organisations that don't. Furthermore, studies have also outlined that companies with greater gender diversity, not just within their workforce but directly among senior leaders, are significantly more profitable than those without. This Boardroom will examine the best pathways for companies to empower more women in senior leadership positions and the ways to accelerate the implementation of these methods.
